DEFINITION OF ISLAAM
—
In the name of Allah, and we send prayers and peace upon Muhammad, (May Allah raise his rank and grant him peace), his family, and his companions , and those that follow them, upon right guidance, till the day of judgement,
As to what follows;
—
From our Sheikh;
Sheikh Fawzaan, [Hafeedhahullah],
(May Allah Preserve him upon Tawheed, Ameen),
He said in his explanation of kitaab At-Tawheed,
–
That the Sharia,
(Islaamic Legislation),
Was sent down in stages,
(Not all at once),
—
And regards the verse in The Quran that establishes the religion for us as Islaam,
–
I say: (“that no other religion has their name given to them in the book which their Prophet brought”),
–
Sheikh Fawzaan said;
The verse revealed on a Friday, Dhul Hijjah, on the day of Arafah, on the mountain of Arafah,
—–
Surah tul Maidah Ayaat 3,
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen (I am pleased), for you Islam as your religion.
—
And Sheikh Fawzaan said;
So we can see that what ever was Islaam that day is Islaam!
And whatever was not Islaam that day
Is not Islaam,
The General meaning (and Definition) of Islaam is:
الإستسلام لله بالتوحيد,
Al -Istislaamu lillahi bil tawheed,
Wal inqiyaadu lahu bi ta’a
Wa bara’a tu minal Shirk,
Wa ahlihi minal shirk
—–
Translated to mean:
1).To surrender to Allah by his tawheed (singling him out alone for worship)
—
2). And submission and obedience to him. Allah Alone, (In matters of worship)
—
3). And stay away from Shirk! (Associating something or some one in worship with Allah)
—
4). And stay away from its people, (the people who worship false God’s!

The specific definition of Islaam:
كل ما جاء به النبي!
Everything that the prophet came with!
—-
After the ayaat of completing the religion,
Then the messenger soon after died,
And the religion will continue to be present till the hour is established!
However, he advised us;
Abdullāh ibn Mas’ood (radiyallāhu ‘anhu), stated that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:
“Indeed, Islam began as something strange, and it will return to being strange just as it began, so glad tidings of paradise be for the strangers.”
It was said to the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam): “Who are they?” He (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) responded, “They are those who rectify when the people become corrupted.”
This Hadith has been collected by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and other than them from the scholars of hadeeth, and it has been declared authentic by Al-Albani.
In a narration, he (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “Those who rectify themselves [and others] when the people have become corrupt.” Reported by Ahmad and At-Tabarāni.

The above hadith is explained by Abu Khadijah on his website:

Also,
we find in the sayings of the Messenger (Salallahu Alaihi wa Salaam),
That Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have left you with two matters which will never lead you astray, as long as you hold to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of his Prophet.”

If mankind would just surrender to their Lord and Creator, Believe on him as he should be believed, and follow their Prophet!
